Steel and Rebar Tensile Testing
MATLAB Materials Laboratory provides mechanical testing of steel in Cambodia: tensile, yield, elongation and bend tests on reinforcing bar from 6 to 50 mm, proof and tensile tests on mechanical couplers and prestressing strand, tensile and shear tests on anchor and connection bolts, and tensile tests on plate, tube and rolled sections.
Results are reported against the grade your project specifies, whether ASTM A615, ISO 15630-1, JIS or GB/T, so a rebar delivery from any supplier can be accepted or rejected on the same day the samples arrive. Weld quality and installed steelwork are inspected on site by our NDT team.

How it works
- Quotation: send the specification clause or test list; the quotation names each standard and unit price.
- Sampling: deliver samples to #271, Street 1964, Sen Sok, Phnom Penh, or book our crew for site sampling anywhere in Cambodia.
- Testing and report: tests are run to the named method and the signed report is issued on completion, with results against the specified limits.

Frequently asked questions
How many rebar samples are needed per delivery?
Most specifications call for one set of samples per bar size per heat number or per defined tonnage. Send us the specification clause and we will confirm the sampling plan and price.
What does a rebar tensile test report show?
Yield strength, ultimate tensile strength, elongation and the yield-to-tensile ratio, compared with the grade limits of ASTM A615, ISO 15630-1 or the standard you nominate, plus the bend or re-bend result.
Do you test mechanical couplers?
Yes, to ISO 15835 or ASTM A1034, including tensile tests on spliced bars.
Can you test anchor bolts and structural bolts?
Yes: anchor bolt tensile with and without nut, connection bolt tensile and single shear to ASTM F606 and F3125.
